Leopard Inn Burlsem Stoke-On-Trent - 1st December 2007
hotel

INTRODUCTION - This was once known as The Savoy of the midlands. It is over 300 years old. The building started life about 1640 when some cottages were knocked together. Helen Wedgewood took the building over in 1740. She turned it into a hotel and public house. The pub was bought in 1872 by James Norris when the building was in decline. He renovated the building and an extension was added in the early `1900’s. Another 57 bedrooms were added, so that made 102 rooms over 6 floors.
This ex Grand Hotel now has derelict rooms, 58 bedrooms have just been reopened after being sealed up between 1931 and the 1950’s.
\tunnels have been found in the cellar.

AREA NOTES EVIDENCE

11.00pm
Arrival

We all met up in the function room and we had a walk around the building. We returned to the room and split into three groups.

12.305am

Gill and Ray’s group went first into the cellar. We started asking out. A group of 5 including Ray use glass divernation.  Nothing at first but then a couple of people started to feel hot. The glass went to the medium with us and would not go to anyone else. The EMF Reader was indicating high readings but we were near wires and lights, the EMF did seem to react to questions.

1.35am

We started to get personnel readings for a member of our group.

Leopard orb

1.455am

We asked if a gentleman was with us because a couple in the group said a man was watching us and he was standing in a small room next to us. The glass did move in this direction. Gill went and sat in there whilst watching the rest of the group.

2.00am

As the group carried on the the glass, Gill’s recorder picked up on what seemed to be a girl’s voice. It said "I have done nothing"

De-brief
and Finish.

We went back to the function room for a debrief but we were told a member of the Derby team had just had his leg kicked upstairs.

CONCLUSION: - What a fantastsic building and with so much history. Paranormal, yes Gill and Ray do think there is something there. This is well worth a second visit.
